METEOR EXPLODES OVER RUSSIA 2-15-2013

AIR BURST METEOR EXPLODES OVER RUSSIA!!!

As many of you have heard there was an apparent Air Burst Meteor over Chelyabinsk Russia today at 0325 UTC on February 15, 2013. Initial reports have stated that hundreds have been injured, mostly as a result of glass exploding from the shockwave as well as bumps and bruising. There has been a significant amount of structural failures due to the event and countless broken windows. I’m sure as the day (s) unfold more information as to the severity will be brought to bear but at this time I haven’t heard of any deaths and or cratering from the event. The sites listed below are full of photos, videos and updates of the situation. At this time it is not believed that the meteor is related to asteroid 2012 DA14 which is scheduled to make it’s close approach to Earth around 19:30 UTC tonight.
