A LOOK AT HOME FROM UNDER SATURN’S WING.

Here’s the full angle photo of the Earth and Moon from Cassini almost a billion miles from home. Here, the Moon isn’t at all discernible as it is in the previous 5X magnification photo but that doesn’t mean it’s any less spectacular. Like the previous photos of Earth from Saturn as well as Venus from Saturn the planet itself shrouds the Sun’s blinding glare while its razor thin rings glow brightly leaving that “Dot” we all know and love and call home to be viewed in awe.
This photo will be stitched together with many others to create a large full sized mosaic of the Ringed Planet similar to the one created in 2006. My understanding is that it will take a few months to complete the process but none the less, stay tuned because the most spectacular photo of them all may still be on deck.
