Incredible view of the Aurora Borealis:
These are the kinds of moments us northerners live for! Aside from the bitterly cold winters, we are given the treat of a special phenomenon; the Aurora Borealis. This one just happened to be captured perfectly by Mia Stalnacke in Kiruna Sweden. It’s worth keeing in mind that though it’s been very low, we are in the midst of Solar Maximum in Solar Cycle 24. So if you live in high northern latitudes or can get to some, this winter should be your best chance to view the aurora until the next maximum rolls around in 11 years.
Please check Mia’s work out; you won’t be disappointed!

It is common to see auroras feature green waves breaking throughout the sky. This year, however, in New Zealand, one man photographed a red aurora.
