You don’t really need much of a caption for an image like this as it speaks for itself…..loudly! This was taken on May 20, 2012 in New Mexico from atop Sandia Crest in a National Park near Albuquerque. They were atop the mountain for almost two days during almost perfect weather aside from the Arizona wildfires. As the eclipse was well under way, a chance encounter with a transiting aircraft presented itself and was captured perfectly through the Hydrogen Alpha (Ha) solar telescope.
Sadly, the S&T link below is all I can find of Mr. Starr but I do know he does some work with Waid Observatory……
