MILKY WAY OVER YUNNAN ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY
Photo Credit: Jeff Dai: CLICK for larger image or see below for links and info.
This is a beautiful capture of the arc of the Winter Milky Way over the 2.4 meter Yunnan Astronomical Observatory in southwestern China. Sometimes simple is good and this is no exception to that rule. In this photo you can see the milky way is there but perhaps even more prominent are some of the northern hemisphere winter constellations. Which constellations can you pick out? How about stars, nebulae….planets?
Yet another great night sky photo that I’m proud to promote! Go check out some of his other work as I’ve provided the links below. If you have a manual camera find a dark sky and try some shooting like this yourself, you may be surprised with what you come up with. For me, the issue is finding dark skies.
