KAREN AT THE CUPOLA

NASA astronaut and Expedition 37 flight engineer Karen Nyberg looks “up” at spaceship Earth from the Cupola. Though most of us have seen this, I wanted to share this photo again because it really gives you a feel for the sphere we live on. The incredible contrast between the oceans and the cloud pattern coupled with the almost surreal curvature of the Earth is something most of us can only dream of seeing from her vantage point.
Oh to have a day on the ISS…….well, let’s say a few days because I’d probably be sick for the first couple. What it must feel like to be in this window; the Cupola, which was brought up to the ISS on STS-130 Endeavour where it was attached to the Tranquility node (Node 3). I have to admit I wouldn’t want to do much work. Just give me a camera, some lenses and all the time in (or out of) the world.
