I’ve had a handful of people ask me in the past few months where I got the header image on my Facebook & Twitter accounts https://twitter.com/DanSpace77 so I though it may be appropriate to just go ahead and share a short post about it.
These are the “ISS Startrails” and they were created by NASA astronaut & ISS Expedition 31 Flight Engineer Don Pettit. He created them in the very same fashion that many of us create startrails; with short 30 sec to 1 minute exposures for a combined 15 minutes to 1 hour and stacked em together. All in all pretty simple, we just don’t get the other worldly view that he had. Check em out, they’re all pretty amazing.
