Happy Monday night everyone!  Let’s keep our week rolling along with a positive attitude with this tremendous shot of the Milky Way Star City over Jordan Valley, eastern Oregon from Josh Hydeman.

The valley wasn’t named after the country Jordan but instead Jordan Creek, which runs through the valley and was named after 19th century prospector, Michael Jordan (Calm down Chicago, not that MJ).  Jordan Valley itself is relatively small but the vast open area and natural land formations make the entire region an amazing place to spend a few days hiking and exploring the terrain.

Oregon is one of the few coastal areas in the United States that aren’t grossly overpopulated and there are many locations in the state and region where you can catch incredible views of the night sky.

I really hope you enjoy this image and hit his links to have a look at the rest of Josh’s work!
