New Zealand By Night

New Zealand Night Life

When camping is on the agenda, apparently we should try New Zealand because this image is simply breathtaking. The Milky Way galaxy, launches up over the mountains on the distant horizon while the Aurora Bor….almost got ya; the Aurora Australis or Southern Lights paint that horizon in a beautiful electric pink.

At left, the two spiders on the wall; the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) 160,000 light years from Earth and the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) 200,000 light years from Earth reside in silent orbit around our home galaxy. Beautiful image from David as always and if you liked this, check out more of his work.
