Here are two remarkable images of the March 9 and only total solar eclipse of 2016 as seen from space and from two different satellites. The top image was captured from the Japanese Himawari-8 satellite while the below image was captured by the NASA/NOAA DSCOVR satellite which is nested a million miles away in a halo orbit at the L-1 Lagrange point between the Sun and Earth. Yes, the Earth is spherical…..it’s 2016, time to get over it.
