Life in the Void

The American southwest desert has some of the most beautiful landscape on Earth in my opinion and this image by Jared Warren serves to back me up in style. Shot in southern Utah, we see the Milky Way galaxy overhead; its nucleus just above the horizon and below the wind carved landscape provides protection from the elements as well as a free and easy food source for this tree.

Come to think of it, this tree doesn’t even know anything about the Earth that it resides on. Confined to the void, at least for now, the sky and the universe is all that it knows.
